The Virtue of Friendship
"Social inclinations are absolutely necessary to the well-being of the world, it is agreeable to the intention of the author of our being, who aims at the common good of his creatures, and as an indication of his will, hath implanted the seeds of mutual benevolence in our souls; the interest, because of the good of the whole is inseparable from that of the parts; in promoting, therefore, the common good, every one doth at the same time promote his own private interest." George Berkley, on The Virtue of Friendship from The Gift of Friendship.
I am smmmmiling, and then some, at this beautiful hand carved stone step that has been cemented into our home today. It's symbolic in so many ways of all sorts of things going on in our lives.
When anyone comes to visit and stands on it, they'll be blasted by love and friendship :o))) Peter our lovely neighbour has come in for a glass of wine and a hug to toast the gift of friendship!
And to new friendships, thanks Aurora Light for the wonderful reiki share :o)) To receive a reiki today, as well as give one, was just amazing.
Happy Thursday, one and all.
