A Collector of Oddities

Golem

Some friends of ours visited Prague recently and we asked them to bring us back a Golem. Here he is.

A golem is a creature in Jewish legend made out of soil and imbued with power given to him in the shape of a scroll or tablet with the name of God written on it. He will do as you command until his power grows too great at which point he will run amok. Seems a little risky to me although perhaps less risky than undergoing murderous anti-semitic attacks which is why Rabbi Leow built one to protect the Jews of Prague.

The Golem did his duty but as predicted he started to turn wild and the Rabbi had to deactivate him after he began to destroy th Rabbi's house. He concealed the body in the attic of the Old-New Synagogue in Prague.

Attempts have been made to locate the Golem with no success.
