My favourite quote from the programme Spitfire Women which I sat down to watch again last night. It told the tale of the 164 women from all over the world who joined the Air Transport Auxillary during the Second World War. They flew (after a struggle) fighters and bombers, unarmed and without radio control. Some of these inspiring, amazing women are interviewed here.
