Fluffy microbes

No chance to get out for a walk today. Spent lunchtime trying to find a few microbiology news stories to take to a careers fair tonight. I've been talking to the students at son number one's old school for several years now and it is always an interesting, if exhausting, evening.

I took along our fluffy microbes as a talking point - these friendly guys are E. coli, Bacillus cereus and a Salmonella. If food poisoning bugs were this size, you'd be able to spot them quite easily in your salad....
