Cupcake

Today we have been using the power of cakes to raise money for our local school swimming pool fund. Our department raised £107.35 towards this. This cupcake and many more was made by my friend Suzy, who makes excedingly good cakes, Tubs lemon drizzle cake that she made for me also disapeared very quickly.
Below is a bit of information about how much needs to be raised to help build a new pool. The old pool was condemded and was being vandilised, the kids could only swim in the summer and there was no proper changing facilities or toilets, only two sheds.

Have a good evening :)

St Andrews Swimming pool fund
As a community project, we have been fortunate to have architect Mr. Dan Hardingham, a parent at the school, devise sketches and plans for the project. With his expertise, costs have been kept to a minimum, whilst at the same time maintaining the integrity and quality of the project. With an estimated cost of £75,000, the project is undoubtedly one of the largest ever undertaken at the school, but we feel this is something that children from both Primary schools could benefit from for years to come.
Here are just some of the benefits of the proposed pool:
- Roofed structure means pool can be used all year round, in any weather and the risk of vandalism is greatly reduced.
- Extended length from 10m to 13m, means more space in which to swim.
- Attached toilet and changing room facilities mean access to the main school building is no longer required in order to use the pool (potential for out of school hours use).
- Location in the village means both Primary Schools can access the pool without costly coach hire.
- Opportunity to extend provision of swimming to all Primary Year groups as opposed to just Years 3 and 5.
