Heaven Under Feet

Holding the Line

After class today, I walked downtown to show my continued support for Occupy Portland.

In an all day quest to shut down Wall Street banks, Occupy Portland succeeded in at least temporarily closing one: Wells Fargo.

Protesters made their way inside the branch at Standard Insurance and planted themselves on the floor before being arrested by police. Meanwhile, outside the building, protestors pulled a U.S. flag upside down which is an official signal of distress. In general, it was a noisy, but peaceful protest through downtown Portland's financial district.
