Luckily I check my bank statements regularly.

I like to think of myself as quite observant but when arranging our hire car for our next trip out to Spain I definitely did not notice that they'd signed me up for some garbage insurance package which covered the square root of b****r all and then charged me an additional £35 for the pleasure. So thanks but no thanks and .... CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS REGULARLY.
