I was reminded tonight of Strunk & White. If that means nothing to you, I recommend you open your favourite search engine and hunt around for what has been listed as one of the most influential books of the last century.

It was introduced to me at university and has been referenced (or rather, discussed) more often since than any other *official* text of the course. Perhaps that says a lot more about me than my course...
