Backside
Day 430
Ah the classic reply when you tell someone that you're studying to be a vet....
'Have you had your hand up a cow's backside yet?!
As it so happens, I spent my entire morning with my had up lots of cows backsides! And thank goodness, because it was a chilly morning! We rectally palpate cows, either to diagnose them as pregnant, (and to hopefully get an idea of what stage their at) and if they're not pregnant to feel the structures on ovaries to find out what stage in their oestrus cycle they're in.
Spent the rest of the afternoon at AgriScot, basically a dairy farming business event. There were cows to look at!
