Iron man?

On the 29th of May each year, Everest Day, they run the Tenzing-Hillary Everest Marathon.

It starts at Base Camp, 5356m, and concludes at Namche, 3446m. It's billed as the Highest Marathon in the world and the winner this year completed the course in 3hrs 53 mins 14 secs.

We were passed by this competitor as we were walking up the way and he was running down.

What had taken him three and a half hours to run down was going to take us four days to walk up.


Oh and the runner finished in 12th in 4 hrs 41mins.
