A refreshing walk
Today has been full of ups and downs. It started down with being woken in the small hours by a party in full swing at a neighbours house. It's November in Scotland and people are partying in their garden at 2am! Do they not realise how cold it is? This went on till they finished between 9 and 10am! So needless to say, we didn't get much sleep.
So when we finally got up we dragged ourselves to the gym. It was good to have done a full work out, but we were still flagging. In the afternoon, I popped out and picked up the mail and saw Mum & Dad. Feel rather flat... it must be the 9 week low point after moving up here. I'm sure everything will sort itself out soon. We did enjoy a leg stretch to the local waterfall and some fresh air!
It was great this evening to spend some time in a three-way skype with my old prayer triplet and catch up. And now I will do a little more reading. I'm currently reading 360-degree preaching by Michael J Quicke. And for all those who are in churches seeking a new minister, this is for you....
'Transformational, individual-saving, community-forming preaching creates churches at their best. That is why mission and leadership flow from healthy preaching.'
