Monumental city

In this photo I reckon we have 'monuments' to War, Nationalism, Religion, Mammon, Literature, 'The Past', Pleasure.

There may be more, but the monuments concerned are, in order:

The equestrian Wellington; & Kitchener (on the Castle esplanade, if I remember rightly)
Bruce and Wallace (at the Castle)
St Margaret's Chapel (also at the Castle)
The Balmoral Hotel
The Scott Monument
The National Records Office (family trees etc) - you can only see the lamps to the right of Wellington, but...
The Wheel, being put together for the Christmas festivities

There are other ways of categorizing these, I'm sure
