Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Enormous!

We've been in Orange County again today and this is late afternoon as the sun was illuminating everything in its path. We were on the Toll Road driving east into the Inland Empire. This is taken through the windshield, so it may not be the best, but I think it's worth tapping the magnifying glass to view in "big."

We left the house about 11:00 a.m. and had tried to secure the three pooches a reservation at the PetSmart Hotel "doggie daycare." But their medical records are not up-to-date at the "hotel" and we didn't want to mess with getting the paperwork from the vet. So we kissed them goodbye and tucked them into their crates and we were off.

I wanted to take Mr. Fun to a lovely little side-street restaurant in Fullerton, The Rialto. On the weekends they serve a delicious breakfast. Since I like the lunch they serve too, I ordered lunch for Mr. Fun, a chicken salad sandwich, and I ordered breakfast for me, a quiche (which is the house special). Then we each halved our meal with the other; that was a sneaky way to get breakfast and lunch! I loved it and so did he.

After our meal we walked the sidewalk past the quaint shops and around the corner to a Bible bookstore because I want to get a new bible for 2012. Every year we read through the bible together and for the past two years we've been using the same translation, so it is time to move to something new.We didn't find what we were looking for, but I did find a book about C.S. Lewis that I purchased.

Then we drove toward south Orange County to the city of Tustin and after doing some shopping in that area we knew we needed to get back home to the pooches. The drive home was amazing with the clouds, the geography, and the sun's illumination.

When we arrived home, we put the dogs in the car and took them to the local dog park and let them play. There weren't any other dogs there, so it wasn't as fun as yesterday's adventure.

This has been a grand "enormous" day. The birthday celebration continues tomorrow. So I'm looking forward to what adventure we might find ourselves in then.

Good night from Southern California.
