Spain voting
The torrential rain continues! So we started the day with breakfast-in-bed!
Since today is the General Election here in Spain, we decided to leave the house (despite the atrocious weather) to make the 30 minute drive to our local municipal polling station, in a neighbouring mountain village.
It's frustrating that despite being a registered foreign resident here and married to a Spaniard, I can't vote with my partner in the General Election (only municipal and European elections).
This village, like most rural areas is staunchly socialist, so these posters of the rightwing, Popular Party are not really welcome (Although it looks as if the right is poised for victory later today.)
Whoever wins, they won't have much of a honeymoon period!
P.S. 'Súmate al cambio' translates to something like 'join the change', which echoes Obama's well orchestrated election strategy of building momentum for change. Although that's probably where the similarities end:-)
