Robin at large

Low Tide and High Dry

The weather was quite pleasant inland this morning, so decided to head for the sea. This was possibly a mistake as the blue sky did not stretch quite as far as the sea.

Spent a pleasant afternoon having a wander around Dunottar Castle. This was only the second time I have been inside the fortress itself. It has to have been a most impregnable fortress in its day, and helped to save the Scottish crown jewels from the hands of Oliver Cromwell.

In the late afternoon I was slightly further South at Gourdon Harbour, about 25 miles South of Aberdeen. This is a small but still active fishing port. Had a brief chat with the crewman/owner of a small fishing boat which came in while we were there. The tide appeared to be coming in, but it would be several hours before ME-87 Emma Kathleen would be afloat. Looking her up on the internet I see she used to be black. I think she looks better showing off her redcoat.
