Accipiter cooperii

Had a pretty quiet weekend until a few hours ago when a huge hawk swooped down into our yard, killed a roadrunner in a matter of seconds, then dumped him in the pool ...
I fished it out, tossing the poor unfortunate into the rough between us & the golf course.
Then Junior showed up for munchies - felt like an episode of Nature on PBS/BBC2 !
At this point, he/she had dropped the now very dead roadrunner a few times & was biding his/her time til the observer with the camera got bored and went away -

All I know is they have mean looking beaks.
