RIP

Rest in peace, Roger Leo Brandt. 7.8.1940 - 11.5.2011

As I always like to come home to a clean house after a vacation, I spent the entire day washing, vacuuming, sweeping, and scrubbing. Around 5PM, I was on my knees, vigorously wiping away a mysterious stain left by one of my cats. Out of the blue, I started wondering about my grandpa B. "Is today the day?"

A few minutes later, I received a text from my mom: "Grandpa died at 2:59 AZ time. About 10 mins ago. Gma and everyone was there. Love you all."

Nine weeks ago, my grandpa was out golfing with his buddies when his legs suddenly stopped working. He was brought to the hospital, and his body started shutting down little by little. At first, the doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong, but they finally found out that he had spinal cancer. He had melanoma 25 years ago, and it came back undetected, and spread to his spine, and eventually his brain. No one saw it coming, not even him.

He was only 71 years old.
