Tough Climb
Bob and I went back to the Enchanted Island Amusement Park today after church. Although the dress code is quite casual at church, Bob dressed in his seersucker jacket with a dress shirt and tie (and khaki shorts since he has outgrown the pants). I suggested that we go home and change first, but Bob was not happy with that idea. So off we went. Gradually, he shed the jacket, then the shirt but kept the clip-on tie attached to his undershirt.
This rock climbing wall proved quite difficult for Bob. Not only were the knobs too far apart for a boy of his size, his dress shoes provided no traction whatsoever. The attendants were quite kind in allowing Bob to keep trying. Just after this photo was taken, he slipped and headed back down. I was really impressed by his determination.
Once we were home, Bob helped me dig up a small cactus and plant it in a pot. In its place, we planted a Tecoma bush with orange flowers that should grow large enough to protect this larger cactus from the burning western sun.
