Beach sparkles
The day began bright and sunny. I went over to Carl to grab a break from work and go to lunch together. I interrupted my journey at Clontarf and Sandymount for quick blip stops. This was Sandymount, just as a cloud drifted across the face of the sun, cast a fleeting shadow onto the beach, and made this solitary figure all the more striking.
We tried Alexis restaurant in Dún Laoghaire for lunch, but they gave us the 'do you have a reservation' routine and told us the best they could do was give us a table right away (at 12.50) but would need us to vacate it by 2.15. No thanks, that'd be far too rushed. We ended up in Lime, a bar/restaurant on Dún Laoghaire's main street and had a really nice meal there. Carl had already done soup, so we just had a main course each (duck for him, chicken curry for me). I'd recommend it.
A quick stop-off in Dunphy's pub for a refreshing bottle of cider, then we parted company and I came home to face into some more work.
