germany wins!

..and the crowds went wild. it is so strange to see how other cultures celebrate. for example, after the game, a large mob of germany fans crowded the streets, and the police had to shut down the road for a while because they were banging on the cars and buses that passed. at random intervals, a chant of "hinsetzen! hinsetzen!" (meaning "sit down, sit down!") would grow in the crowds, and everyone would just sit down in the street for a while. then after a few seconds, their excitement would get the better of them, and they'd all jump back up, crazier than before.

i think i took better pictures today, but i like the idea behind this one at least. it's so hard for my little camera and its two AAs to give off a flash worthwhile at 11pm. but i watched the game with two other blippers, so i'm sure you'll get a better idea of the event from them.
