The Day I Snapped A Herring Gull
Working from home, I quite often sit on conference calls with my office door open to the garden. Herring gulls quite often join in the conversation with their squawking overhead. Becomes quite a conversation topic and at work I'm known as the guy near the beach (even though I am a good ten minutes walk away).
They are not popular with everyone and before the advent of the wheelie bin they were a positive nuisance on bin day but I don't think the seaside would be the same without them. Don't feed them though because they may be alien invaders...
In The News... Steve Coogan complaining that reporters rifled through his bins. Not sure this is news, I thought everyone knew they did that. A tip Steve: If you have anything you don't want discovered then don't put it in the bin or if you do put it in the bin then make sure it's covered in something really nasty. Being a dog owner, I will let you guess where I put my cut up credit cards for disposal :-)
