WholeFoods Market, Giffnock

This US food chain has now opened its fifth store in the UK. In this case on the 16 November 2011 in Giffnock on the south side of Glasgow.

This building was built by Argyle Foods in the 1970s and opened as a Presto. When Argyle Foods took over the UK operation of Safeway, the store was rebranded as such. Following the takeover of Safeway (UK) by Morrisons in 2004, it was rebranded again. However subsequently Morrisons opened a new store a few hundred yards closer to Glasgow City Centre and closed this site.

In December 2010, WholeFoods announced the opening of the store in Giffnock.
