Picknick

Sam's nursery group today said farewell to the "big" kids - the 5 and 6 year-olds, who are headed off for school in a few weeks time. At first, I wasn't convinced by the mixed-age groups (it goes from 1 1/2 years to 6 years in one group of 14), but now I totally am - the big ones look after the small ones, and the little ones look up to the older ones as if they were their big brothers and sisters. The picknick was lovely, everyone brought something, an intersting mix of German cakes, fruit, crisps (Lilli kept close to the bag in a very Scottish manner....) and greasy Turkish pastries. Very multi-kulti, as we like to say.
