Quercus Robur
Alias, Pedunculate Oak or even the Common Oak. THE great native Irish tree. Once upon a time the country was largely covered with great forests of these noble trees. It would seem that King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I and the Royal Navy helped themselves to the bulk of it for the building of warships. Their gain was our loss.
A triptych with inspiration from "From Cymbeline"
Edit:
As you can see this is no longer a triptych but a single image. Blipcentral, whom I shall be emailing in a few moments, decided in their wisdom to crop my original image, which made a total nonesense out of it. This they did under the "no borders" rule. I have changed the image as I am not at all comfortable with someone interfering with the creative integrity of my work and will not allow you to see it mutilated in any way. I was VERY careful not to add borders and even went to the trouble of shooting a sheet of textured card to act as my background so that it would be impossible to say that I had added any form of border. This is going to have to be sorted out as even a feathered edge is apparently also a border when of course it obviously is not. I am very upset about this matter and will have to re-evaluate everything in the light of any reply I receive from Blipcentral.
