Spellings for Homework Tonight

I was not working today so got a chance to sit beside my daughter, giving her encouragement, while she was doing her homework. I was meant to be reading out the words like a spelling test but I fell asleep, with my head on the table.
She said 'Mammy, my teacher doesn't do that in the class at spelling time.'

There is just something about that late afternoon time. I can keep going all day if I'm up and about but sit down for a minute and I conk out.

I said to my daughter that her school finishes at half past two and who knows what her teacher could be doing at 4 o' clock. Chances are he's taking a well deserved afternoon nap after minding a class of eight year olds all day.
