An evening with Lords, Princes and Divas
A fabulous evening last night that started off with a champagne reception hosted by lord Tyler in the River room at the House of Lords. The reception was to celebrate the amazing work of a small charity called The Joe Homan Charity .
Katherine - Diary of a Diva pictured had kindly invited me as her guest to meet the patrons and trustees. Like many small charities who facilitate incredible work but have few staff and resources, they need help to raise awareness of their charity, raise money to ensure the long term future and engage with new supporters. Katherine and I chatted about this and looked at the possibilities of helping the charity. We chatted with Lord Tyler who was busy playing political "ping-pong" as he called it rushing backwards and forwards from the Lords to get some new legislation through.
If you get a chance, go and visit the website, they are a lovely bunch of people doing amazing things in India and Thailand - very inspirational.
Felt such a gift to be in an amazing building that I have observed all my life. The river room looks straight over the Thames and across to the London Eye that is currently lit in Blue for Christmas. London shines this time of year and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
A quick cab journey past Buckingham Palace on to the Albert Hall for a night out with Prince Charles - a guest at the Rock Gala an event to celebrate the work of the Princes Trust. With a stellar line up my fav pop stars were Boy George, the gorgeous Alison Moyet looking hot hot hot, Midge Ure, Julian Lennon, Mark King from Level 42, Pete Townsend and Cerys and the wonderful Tim Minchin who was the star of the evening.
