Talking Chinese
The local shops in the neighbourhood once were all small stores specialized in the immediate needs for everyday life, like foods for the family and foods for the pets, materials to make clothes or knit woolies, shoes and boots and pills and coal to keep warm and healthy. Since long all these goodies can be bought from supermarkets and now also from the internet.
The small shops close down one by one and sometimes after months of being on offer for rent a shop is opened up again. Like this shop.
For decades this place was a tobacco shop and then a flower shop after that a tailor shop run by a turkish tailor for a while and now it's a sewing shop as if part of a big company. Enormous pieces of fabric are sewn here and I imagined at first this was a new tailor's shop, perhaps a talented designer here?!
The young Chinese who sews here since recent I approached and asked if I could blip him, I could but then again our communication did not get further but the word 'foto' . Not difficult to relate to as I had the camera in my hand. but no further exchange of thoughts or explanation as we spoke chinese to one another - what a pity.
Wonder where he comes from and what he's doing here etc. On the other hand his shop and some of the others bring far away shops at our doorsteps, like his on man production shop is / was unthinkable here and now it's there
