surprise!

Look what I found,

whilst out in the garden today, during a clear up of fallen leaves I found this.

This unusual Acanthus, just keeps going and going, every year for the last 8 it has died back and the leaves have gone a sludgy brown mess, but every spring it grows new lush acid green leaves,

but this year it has truly been a bright star in the garden. Everything else is dying back and going brown, this is sending up new shoots.

After 8 years i'm still waiting for it to flower though, it might do, in summer next.
