thanksgiven
well, yeah...
started the day off with the treadmill (thinking ahead, I guess)--did nearly three miles (this is a shit-ton for me--I prefer the bicycle). Breakfast tacos with maple sausages, eggs, freshly grated white cheddar, fresh cilantro.
Then onto the main attraction:
I had marinaded some turkey breasts for 24 hours in fresh garlic, fresh tarragon and thyme, dried rosemary, lemon pepper, Kosher salt. oh yes. what else, what else: stuffing with chicken broth, Leah's amazing cranberry relish that she made fresh with our new food processor that immediately broke after the first use. Rolls, mashed potatoes from organic purple fingerling and Yukon gold spuds. Anchor Christmas beer. Pinot noir. green beans with fresh garlic and local tomatoes. Yeah, we love garlic here. About to walk then pie and movies and early bedtime, me thinks.
We have eaten well today. That is for damn sure. I am certainly not much of a traditionalist beyond the food, however. I could give two shits about the Dallas Cowboys (or football in general, actually) or shopping on the unholy Black Friday tomorrow. Evil, those.
Have a great night, friends. I owe you all many comments. Many, many regards.
