dressing up the contents

Insert vague analogy relating to the dressing-up of things to be represented much more grandly than their purpose etc. A bin is always still a bin, containing rubbush. I'm not sure what the need for such fanciness is here; whilst the increased size might be useful, a partially-submerged device with a hole not more than three feet off the ground would be better so that people can teach their children to put things in the bin. More complicated to build but much more useful again would be a bin with some sort of automated mechanism to harvest all the bags dumped beside rather than in it, as can usually be found during the summer when the bins in the park are swiftly overwhelmed by all the cups and sandwich-wrappings.
