Sandhill Cranes

We're spending a few days at Bosque del Apache Wildlife refuge near Socorro, New Mexico. It's located along the central flyway, and is a birder's paradise. We arrived a couple of hours before sunset, and moved fast to locate s sunset location. The Sandhill crane count just spiked to over 15,000. These 2 were headed to roost on the water. This is a magical place, I hope I'll be able to give you a feel for it over the next few days.
