Melrose, Scottish Borders

The extensive remains of a Cistercian abbey, nestling below the three hills, known to the Romans as Trimontium.

Said to be the burial place of the heart of Robert the Bruce and also Michael Scot, a translator of Aristotle and Averroes, who attended the court of Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor.
