Charity Day

Today was the Charity Race Day at Snetterton in aid of the Ronald McDonald House charities. This organisation provides free housing near to hospitals, for parents of children who are long term patients in these hospitals. Whether it be 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years, they make sure that parents can be with their offspring 24 hours a day.
As a simple way of raising money, they hired the Snetterton circuit, and got race drivers from all over the country to give up their time and petrol to give passenger rides to paying members of the public like myself.
I had 3 rides, firstly in an Austin A40, then a ride in each of the cars above. The speed and handling differences between a Fiesta XR2i and an Aston Martin GT4 are worlds apart! The Aston may have been quicker overall, but the fiesta was far more exciting as it cornered on never more than 3 of its 4 wheels!
