last leaf...

...standing

on the peach tree...

through heavy winds blowing mightily... it has remained... when all its buddies have fallen. there it continues to show its tenacity - its strength - endurance... it makes me wonder how long it will hang on.

i saw it the other day - dancing in the wind and thought about blipping it - thinking i'd missed the opportunity... and really heavy winds picked up last night making me think for sure it would be on the ground today... but nope - there it was - hanging from its branch - sure and steady in the sunlight against a blue sky... and i knew - this was the moment - today was the day.

as the wind whipped my hair around my face and i waited for it to abait so i could snap the leaf... i considered how it stood as a testament - a reminder for me to have fortitude, hope... and courage in spite of adversity around me - even when it seems as though i might be standing alone. a brave little leaf - giving me encouragement - go figure. but how it makes for...
