On the way to the trees
Steve drove us down to Dave and Nora's today to get a Christmas tree. We took Steve's car because it had more room to carry a tree home. We drove in Dave's car to the tree farm on Whidbey Island where they go every year. To our surprise there was a sign at the entrance. It was closed. We had driven awhile to get there and wondered what to do next. Soon we realized there was a sign suggesting we go to Knot in Thyme, a place not too far away that also had Christmas trees. We arrived and went into their small gift store and asked about trees. Yes, they had them. They were located down a small country road on the property and the way to get there was by buggy pulled by two black Percheron horses. So we climbed aboard and headed off through the woods. This is the view we saw in front of us. We ended up buying a tiny tree and Dave and Nora bought a big one. When we got home we all walked down town to have dinner and then window shopped on the way back to Dave and Nora's We played a game of dominoes and drove back home. It was a pleasant day, not at all what we planned, but with a playful twist with the same result.
