The Autumn Years

Winter apples

On a piece of managed wilderness, officially a pocket park, behind our houses there stands this lovely apple tree still retaining the bright red fruit. What do they taste like? I've no idea but can't be all that good as not one has been scrumped!
We, the local residents, have, incidentally, fought to keep this bit of ground essentially for wildlife, there have been several attempts to build houses on it over the years.
