Monterey Pines

There are clusters of Monterey Pines on the peninsula, the story goes that a teacher in Kilcrohane National School got the kids to plant some seeds of this tree near their homes, fifty years on her inspired idea has left a wonderful legacy.
Beyond the pines is Dunmanus Bay and beyond that Mount Gabriel, the radar tracking station on the top is affectionately known in these parts as Gabriels balls!
