DubWud camping weekend
A small group of Dubwud VW club from the Fylde area organized a little camp and run out for the weekend, so packed the van and joined in. Well it was cold, windy but camping at a site owned by a pub run by very nice couple, great food, if you go the stilton and brocoli crumble was very yummy (Cotton arms, Wrenbury, Cheshire) and some funny guys n girls was worth it. Got a few pics of a bay window that came along which was going to be my blip and a few nice views of the canal along side the campsite. but
after a run today out to Hack Green *SECRET* Nucear bunker (*cats out of the bag now*) a bit un nerving and sad seeing (decommisioned) weapons of mass distruction, tracking, radio, navigation, radar equipment from both world war two and the Cold war, even the console used by "Iron Lady". Baroness Margaret Thatcher, to give the order to one of our submarines to "take out" the General Belgrano of the Argentinian navy during the Falklands Conflict and how the operators had to live, and work, very interesting place, very graphic images of what destruction nuclear missiles were capable of (I wouldnt recommend it for young children!!) .
So my blip is of an opened warhead of a submarine based polaris missile (cant see me getting many chances to do that) and im sure I will get more of the bay another time . . a nice chilled weekend, getting me out of my four walls
