Dig Deep

We took the kids to a rather charming Christmas Tree Festival at our local church today. Many local groups, e.g. Scouts, Brownies, Mothers' Union, Church Choir, etc had supplied and decorated a Christmas tree and they were all displayed around the church and viewable for a very reasonable (fund-raising) £1 per adult.

An unexpected treat for the kids was this fine fellow who had set up camp in the vestry and, having had a lengthy chat with him, the kids were able to choose some confectionery from his sack (not a euphamism of any sort by the way). It struck me that if this was in a shopping centre, it would have cost me another £10 and the kids were every bit as thrilled.
