Craigmillar Castle

As I mentioned yesterday, Historic Scotland did a free weekend tickets thing, so after yesterday's visit to Edinburgh Castle, today we went to visit Craigmillar Castle.

Craigmillar Castle is interesting - it is in ruins, but perhaps not quite as much as you'd expect from the outside (I always think it looks like it should be an empty shell). It's certainly well worth a wander around.

We were super lucky with the weather - it was still ridiculously windy today, but at least it was sunny and there were lovely blue skies (though don't make the mistake of thinking that sunny = warm), although this did make taking photos a bit difficult as everything was either silhouetted or over-exposed, or both. I'm not complaining though - I'd rather have sun than rain!!
