Argyll Flyer flying...
A rough crossing this morning for one of the two small ferries that now serve Dunoon. I've uploaded a whole set of photos of its journey on Flickr; I'm so glad I wasn't on board as it pitched its way through the waves.
The boat reminds me of the one on which we once sailed from Sorrento to Capri, at the end of summer, in a flat calm. On a day like today - when the wind is actually barely noticeable on land - it's a nightmare. Confined in a cabin where rows of seats give most of the passengers very little chance to watch the horizon through the windows (not portholes!), I can very quickly feel seasick - and the small deck areas today were swamped in sea every minute.
Remember - until recently we had two proper ferries on this route.
