Sony confirmed that the problem with my DSC-T1 was indeed an image sensor issue.

It arrived back today, fixed and in perfect working order. And the best part - no invoice :-)

Its the perfect camera for putting in your back pocket. As long as you know its limitations - ie its crap in low light, don't even bother trying to use the zoom and make sure that the flash won't fire - then it produces great results.
