High Tide
The weather is getting worse! Stormy seas and strong winds here, the trees are bouncing in the garden, wonder if they will survive the onslaught of the storm.
We had to go to Lochgilphead to buy some ingredients for our grandson's birthday cake- well some items to create special effects on the cake. Fortunately we found exactly what we needed , one of the items being a googly eye. Why , you might well ask? All will be revealed when the cake is completed.
On the way out of Lochgilphead we stopped near the Front Green as I thought \i might get a stormy blip there. Nothing doing , much to windy , dark and dull to get a decent seascape. However some of the seabirds had taken refuge on the green as they couldn't get anywhere near the rocks on the shore, the tide being so high it was coming over the sea wall and encroaching on the grass; wouldn't be surprised if it flooded tonight.
I did get a blip of some of the birds, the oyster catchers and what at first looked like curlews but not certain as they look like the juvenile black tailed godwits in my bird book. If anyone can confirm what they are I would be delighted.
Also LARGE might be worth a peek to see the lenght and shape of tjhose beaks.
Many thanks ,Mary
