Her Next Door

With apologies to fellow blipateers for my lack of comments and blips of late but I just don't seem to get the time I should. I'm not sure why either, as I doubt I'm any busier than most people on here.

Anyway, this is a pretty poor shot of the Crown Court building at Wakefield, which is more or less nest door to the Magistrates Court. I was looking for the Magistrates Court as I had to attend a meeting to meet the Deputy Clerk and Deputy Chair. As others may know I am transferring to Wakefield in the new year as my current court closes or rather is amalgamated with, Bradford.

I enjoyed meeting the people but the building, which is older and therefore more characterful, is, er, pokey and dull. The courts themselves seem 'intimate' and yet the Benches are high above the rest of the room. A certain amount of theatre and commanding position is good, I suppose but these are almost comedic in their dominance of the small rooms. Hopefully I will adjust and feel as at home there, in time as I do at my current court.
