New Camera
Recently my water-damaged K-x has been showing signs of deterioration. Since its dowsing it has only worked in Auto mode and any menu option that isn't on page one of each sub-menu has not been available. Now, additionally, fully charged batteries have been rejected as being flat, and the flash hasn't been firing properly. It seems that internal wiring has been corroding.
The camera was written off by Pentax at the time, but has proved an extremely useful second camera, used in tandem with its white replacement K-x, to provide a wider range of focal lengths without having to keep changing lenses.
I have replaced it today with a top of the range (and weather-proofed) K-5, and added a similarly water-resistant 17-70mm lens which should perfectly complement the 70-300mm Sigma usually attached to the white K-x.
I've been studying the manual and charging its battery this afternoon, and am looking forward to taking it out on a shoot at the earliest opportunity.
