Fourteen Good Ones

Today is our 14th anniversary, and we are going to celebrate with dinner at Anthony's at Squalicum Harbor.

Yes, we're returning to the site of my blip yesterday, but today couldn't be more different. I had planned to make today's blip a photograph of some of the lovely food we will enjoy at our window table at Anthony's, with the lights of the harbor twinkling in the distance. However, as I write this -- 1:15pm -- the sky is a dull, leaden gray, the temperature is 42F (6C), and there is an 80% chance of rain later this afternoon.

Never mind, this glass heart is dear to us and will represent the day well. We were given it for our 2009 anniversary by the owners of The Chocolate Lily B&B in Vancouver, BC, an hour's drive away. I had mentioned in my booking email the occasion for our visit, but we had not expected a lovely gift and card from R and K! It made our time there even more special. We had a second wonderful stay there in April 2010 and were looking forward to another soon, but recently had an email from R and K saying they had sold the B&B so they could travel and do other things while they still were able.

We can relate to that. The older you get, the faster time seems to go.

For this anniversary, I say a heartfelt thank you to P for encouraging me to join Blipfoto. Photography was one of the things that brought us together, and sharing the daily challenge and pleasure that Blipfoto brings enriches our lives immensely.
