Cactus Flower
I decided to load this earlier than usual today, I'm home on my lunch break and I won't have time to take a blip shot tonight, so this is a shot of my new cactus. It is having a great blooming streak. It is beautiful. It is pretty small, so I just took a single blossom shot instead of the whole plant.
I am feeling terrific today, last night I went to the college board meeting and found out that they approved my application for early retirement. I am pinching myself all over today to make sure I am not dreaming. I have been trying to get early retirement for 5 years, and because they have a cap of $150,000 per year to spend on insurance for early retirees, you can't get early retirement unless someone turns 65 and gets on medicare. Well, it finally happened, and my persistence paid off.
I will work until June, and then I will join the retired ranks. I can't wait. I feel like I am abandoning everyone else where I work, and they are pretty depressed about me leaving, but they had to know that it would happen someday.
Anyway, I had to share my news. Happy blipping!
