I wouldn't hurt a fly

I am ever such a friendly dog. Ask any of the doggies who know me. Whenever I see another dog coming towards me I always roll over on my back to greet them. I am sooo friendly and would never do anybody any harm.

So imagine my and mums horror when I was attacked in the woods today :-(

I was going about my own business when I saw a Springer Spaniel running towards me. I thought she looked nice so I ran over and started to roll over for her. Then she went for me. I screamed and screamed and tried to run back to mum but she had me on my back by the neck with her teeth and was really grrrring at me.

I tried to fight back a little, pushing her off me but she just pinned me down harder, which made me cry louder. Mum came running over and got her welly in to try and kick her away but then the owner came running up and finally dragged her off me. I was everso upset, I tried to jump into mum's arms for a cuddle but she needed to check me over for bites.

He did apologise and said it had never happened before, she had to go straight on her lead.

Then we went on our way. I stayed on the lead for a while but I was fine. No damage done and to be honest after 5 minutes I had forgotton all about it once I started chasing squirrels! I did stay in mum's sight though which I haven't done for a while. I needed her close to rescue me again if I needed it!

Mum was very upset too, she had a bit of a cry to start with as she was so shocked but once I started showing off and chasing squirrels she was fine again and the chicken holler returned ;-)

I am off for a snuggle up so that we feel better.
