Artic Tern

This persistent tern followed Dimairt and I along the beach. Every time I threw the ball into the sea for Dimairt, the tern was attracted by the splash and tried to dive-bomb the spot.

Maybe it thought it was a fish rising to the surface.

Anyway, Dimairt got the ball each time - which was just as well for the tern. It wouldn't have been able to fly so well with a ball stuck in its throat! I did try to get a photo of the diving, but it was SO fast.

I'm going with Jill and Bob to a talk/concert by Anne Lorne-Gillies tonight. The history and culture of St. Kilda through its music. Looking forward to it.
