Gentleness
There are few things more gentle than a deer, even after it has finished off the last of your raspberry crop. I love their innocent faces.
There is large hole in my fence because a drunk driver came crashing through the other day. No one was injured but my plants are taking a beating because now the deer can easily get into the garden. I think I can patch up the hole tomorrow, with the help of a friend. The fence will have to be rebuilt over the next while.
The offending car took down the fence and all of the protective trees that were about 4-5 inches in diameter. There were also 2 lovely climbing roses which had taken decades to wind their way up to the top of the trees. Ripped down in an instant. Its a sorry sight, I tell you. At least nobody was killed or injured.
On the positive side....I have the gentle deer to observe for a while. It helps.
